After serving in the US Navy for five years, and working as an Educator in up-state New York and Long Island for thirty-two years, Bob has since been devoting his time in pursuit of the "perfect picture".

While in the Navy, Bob bought his first camera, a Nikon 'F' and became hooked on photography. Over the years he has steadily continued in his quest for that elusive great photo. Working with a TLR Mamiya, Bob took countless photographs of students at work as well as at play, often giving the negatives (which he developed himself in his basement darkroom) to a local newspaper. Over the years Bob slowly improved his hobby by shooting numerous weddings with a newly acquired Nikon F-5. Along the way he also purchased a Mamiya Pro 11 medium format monster of a camera that he used for landscapes. Bob now uses a Nikon F-6, a Hasselblad x-pan11 and a Rollei TLR.

Essentially self taught, Bob has also taken photography courses at Suffolk Community College in Riverhead, New York as well as individual workshops given by well known local master photographers.

Bob feels he has grown as a photographer over the years, from merely taking pictures, to making photos, to creating images. The ultimate secret is to be able to "see" a subject, stand in the right spot, and be there at the right time. Many of the photos seen here are of the North Fork of Long Island, New York.

His work may be seen at The Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild in Cutchogue, New York and Cecily's Love Lane Gallery in Mattituck, New York.
